BYD Philippines 3rd Anniversary – All-New S7 and 2017 F0 Launched

BYD Auto, through its authorized Philippine distributor, Solar Transport and Automotive Resources Corp. (STAR Corp.), marked another milestone in its operations in the Philippines, when it celebrated its Third Anniversary with customers, employees, media partners and friends on September 28 at the BYD Shaw Showroom in Mandaluyong City.

STAR Corp. managing director Mark Andrew Tieng, welcomed the attendees and shared the significant milestones of the company in 2015 to 2016, including the 5-STAR Program; BYD Auto Club; and their successful campaign in the Philippine Endurance Challenge where the team emerged victorious in the Manufacturer’s Cup and FM2 Class Championship.

“We would like to thank all of you especially our media friends for your continued support. BYD Philippines has been in the country for three years now and we are proud to say that all our customers are very happy and satisfied. Our promise is that we will continue to do more for our customers,” said Tieng.

Inspired by the event’s theme “Change is Coming”, Tieng gave a glimpse of BYD’s future in the country by announcing plans of the company’s network expansion and the unveiling of the All-New S7 and F0, which served as the highlight of the evening.

The All-New BYD S7

The BYD S7 is defined as an exemplary SUV that offers high level performance and superb luxury. The seven-seater S7 combines space, comfort and style in a crossover platform

Exterior

The BYD S7 is finished in a tasteful and elegant body color complemented by the front plating grille and body-colored exterior door handles. An LED logo serves notice that the S7 comes from the world-class BYD stable.

Michelin tires mounted on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheel s give the S7 its sturdy and distinctive stance.

A rear spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, decorative parts on the fenders and on the back door, halogen headlights, panoramic sunroof         , and roof rack provide the design cues that give the S7 its air of sportiness and practicality.

Festooned with active safety features such as front and rear fog lights, intermittent front wipers, windshield wiper for the back door, rear window defogger, exterior rearview mirror with LED turn light with power folding and power adjustment, exterior rearview mirror defroster & defogger, automatic headlight system, headlights height adjustment, Daytime Running Lights or DRL, and LED combined rear lights, the S7 is ready to operate even in conditions of limited visibility or inclement weather.  A jam protection window and remote window lifter for the driver’s seat are also part of the amenities to make driving the S7 a worry-free experience.

Interior

Everything about the BYD S7 is centered on providing its driver and occupants with comfort and convenience.  A leather steering wheel gives the driver optimum grip as well as excellent ergonomics as the controls for the audio, Bluetooth, panoramic images, and cruise control are at his fingertips. In order to achieve the ideal driving position, a manually adjustable steering wheel for angle and height, and 8–way power adjustment driver’s seat are standard features. A 4.3-inch TFT LCD dashboard provides relevant information about the S7’s condition and systems status.

Sun visors with vanity mirror, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, illuminated shifting handle, dual zone automatic air-conditioner with rear air outlet, and air purification system as well as floor mats, brown color interior, deluxe leather seats,

front passenger’s seat with 4–way power adjustment, 6:4 split folding second row seats, second row center armrest with cup holder, ISO FIX, and independent folding third row seat make the cabin practical, versatile and livable.

On-board Entertainment

No road trip will ever be boring with the S7’s on-board entertainment system comprising of audio, radio, Bluetooth mobile phone music, 10.2-inch touch screen, center console LCD compass, 9 speakers, 5.1-channel stereo system, SD + AUXillary  +  USB interfaces, and 12-Volt power supply socket.

Performance

The BYD S7 is available with 2.0-liter aluminum engine, which features 4 cylinders, 16 valves, Double Overhead Camshaft, Variable Valve Timing, turbocharge, stratified combustion, and direct injection, and mated to 6-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission with two-wheel drivetrain.

With rated power of 151 hp at 5,500 rpm for the 20-liter variant and maximum torque of  320 N-m between 1,750-4,500 rpm the S7 can sprint up to a top speed of 185 kph to 190 kph.

Safety

BYD manufactures some of the safest and most secure vehicles in the world and the S7 is no different. Its safety features include Electronic Stability Program or ESP,  Electrical Park Brake or EPB, engine electric immobilizer, front 3-points pretension seatbelts, second row side 3-points pretension seatbelts, second row center 3-points seatbelt, third row 3-points seatbelts, airbags, front passenger’s seatbelt reminder, intelligent key system, remote central door lock, reverse radar with 6 sensors, outside mirror automatic tilt while reverse  , 360° camera, driving state display    , Hydraulic Power Steering or HPS, Brake Override System or BOS,

Tire Pressure Monitoring System or TPMS, cruise control system or CCS , and front and rear disc brakes.

The 2017 F0

The new F0 redefines the meaning of a hatchback. It is more exciting, sporty, peppy, young and stylish. It is designed for high efficiency and fuel economy. A road invasion has truly begun with the F0.

Introduction

The dark-grey interior sets the stage for simple yet trendy features such as the adaptive Tachometer as well as LED index with backlight and AUX port. It has a Smart Keyless Entry System that lets you open your car within a one-meter radius and allow you to start your engine with just one push of a button. It’s powered by a fuel-efficient yet mighty 1.0-liter engine with multi-point sequential fuel injection.

Exterior

Simple and sporty are the key themes in the F0’s design philosophy.  Cool headlights, windward antenna, steel wheels and decorative cover, after emitting logo, and the new front bumper styling come together to convey the image of a veritable “pocket rocket”.

Interior

Despite its diminutive size, the F0 is loaded with features such as remote central locking, HPS or hydraulic power steering system, electronic back door,

front side door electric windows, and rear side door electric windows.

Performance

The BYD F0 is powered by the 1.0-liter BYD371QA all-aluminum engine, which is rated at 50 kW at 6,000 rpm and cranks out maximum torque of 90 N-m between 4,000      – 4,500 rpm mated to a choice of either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. Housed within a sub-frame super chassis stability system, the F0 is capable of reaching a top speed of 151 kph.

Safety

BYD does not compromise when it comes to safety, thus the F0 is equipped with

LED daytime running lights, common interior mirror, high-rigidity body collision, overall pressed steel side panels, crumple energy absorbing steering column, energy-absorbing crumple brake pedal, side-impact safety bar, child safety lock, 3rd brake light, front three-point seat belts, rear side seat three-point belt, electronic anti-theft system, and Smart Key System.
