Manila, Philippines.– The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) attended the conference of the Federation of Asian Motorcycle Industries (FAMI) in Hanoi, Vietnam last September.
The conference, hosted by the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM), kicked off the 1st International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA) Global Policy Workshop. Based on IMMA’s strategic plans, policies affecting the respective motorcycle industry of IMMA members were discussed, in particular road safety, mobility and urban access, sustainable motorcycle and development, economy and trade communications strategy, and electric vehicles.

The FAMI Meeting, conducted twice a year, is a venue for its members to share, exchange and discuss various technical and non-technical policies and issues pertaining to the motorcycle industry.
FAMI is composed of national automotive associations from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. It is a member of IMMA together with motorcycle industry federations from Australia, Canada, China, Europe, India and the US.
MDPPA President, Armando Reyes, is one of FAMI’s Vice Presidents. Mr. Alfredo Lejano, MDPPA’s Vice President, chairs the FAMI Information Task Force.
MDPPA will host the next FAMI Meeting in the Philippines in March 2018.
