The Porsche 718 Challenge

  • Porsche creates online game to celebrate the arrival of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman

The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman – the new names of the two-door mid-engine sports cars from Porsche. Celebrating the arrival of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine 718 model line, Porsche Asia Pacific has launched an online racing game titled the 718 Challenge. Porsche fans and enthusiasts are invited to put their driving skills to the test online while maneuvering the new Boxster S and 718 Cayman S down the twisting roads. From 18th July to 17th August 2016, gamers can compete against each other to come to fame – and a grand prize to be won.

Porsche as an exclusive sports car company and its strong link to motorsports encourage players to take the challenge with friends and family and share the competition score on social media. Beating the timings of other players around the world would be the motivation and as Porsche puts it – for the sport of it. The game’s enticing tagline summed up the excitement, “If legends are not born but made, The 718 Challenge is where you will be crafted into one.”

The best player, reaching the top of the leader board by August 17th midnight will win an once-in-a-lifetime, tailored experience witnessing the adrenaline-pumping Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as part of the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, September 16th to 18th.

Interested participants may visit www.porsche.com/718challenge to join the race and learn more about the heritage of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, originating from the legendary 718 mid-engine sports cars that won numerous races in the 50s and 60s such as Targa Florio and Le Mans. Ultimately players challenge themselves by participating in the online game and continue to check their current standing on the leaderboard.
