BYD Cars Philippines Completes 22-Day Nationwide EV Journey, Sets Guinness World Records and Proves Readiness of Electric Mobility in the Philippines

The “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign, led by BYD Cars Philippines in partnership with ACMobility and the Department of Tourism, successfully completed a 22-day electrified journey across the country. Covering more than 3,500 kilometers and passing through 102 cities and municipalities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the expedition showcased BYD’s New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and DM-i models. Guided by lead navigator Wil Dasovich, the journey combined road travel, cultural immersion, and real-world demonstrations, proving that electric mobility in the Philippines is already a present-day reality.

At the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), BYD Cars Philippines achieved a major milestone by receiving two Guinness World Records titles. These include the “Most cities visited in a continuous journey by a battery electric vehicle (BEV)” using the BYD eMAX 7, and the “Most cities visited in a continuous journey by a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)” using the BYD Shark 6 DMO. The achievement, spanning 102 cities and municipalities across three island groups, demonstrates the capability, durability, and readiness of electrified vehicles for long-distance travel in diverse Philippine conditions.

The campaign also highlighted the growing strength of the country’s EV infrastructure. With over 160 charging points available nationwide—from Luzon to Mindanao—located in malls, hotels, offices, and public spaces, electric travel is now more accessible than ever. Through platforms like the Evro App, drivers can easily locate charging stations, reinforcing that the foundation for nationwide EV adoption is already in place. According to ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, the initiative reflects a broader ecosystem being built to support Filipino EV users, from purchase to charging accessibility.

Overall, the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign demonstrated that the Philippines is ready for electric mobility today. The successful North-to-South journey serves as proof that long-distance EV travel is not only possible but practical, supported by an expanding charging network and a growing commitment from industry partners to accelerate the country’s shift toward sustainable transportation.
