ACMobility Powers Long-Distance EV Travel from South Luzon to Bicol with New Lucena EV Charging Station

ACMobility, Ayala’s mobility arm and the country’s leading provider of EV charging solutions, has strengthened its nationwide EV infrastructure with the opening of a new Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) in Lucena City. Strategically located within PTT Lucena and across the Lucena City Government Complex, the new hub plays a key role in enabling seamless long-distance EV travel from South Luzon to the Bicol region.

Serving as a crucial gateway stop along the 450–500 km southern corridor from Manila to Bicol, the Lucena EVCS addresses the long-standing challenge of limited charging options along the route. With more charging hubs now rising across Luzon, EV drivers can travel farther with greater ease, comfort, and significantly reduced range anxiety. The Lucena site also provides a convenient rest stop with nearby restaurants and essential amenities ideal for long road trips.

The facility features modern and future-ready charging systems capable of supporting a wide range of EVs. It includes a 120 kW DC fast charger with two charge points and a 22 kW AC charger for standard use. Charging capacity in the area will soon expand further with the addition of two AC chargers at the Giant Lucena station along Evo Tourism Road. All chargers seamlessly integrate with the Evro app, allowing motorists to locate stations, check availability, charge, and settle payments effortlessly.

The station also aligns with Lucena City’s broader sustainability goals. Its close proximity to the New Lucena City Hall enables government access to essential EV infrastructure that can support future electrified public transport, fleets, and environmental initiatives. The city is now assessing more LGU-owned locations for additional EVCS installations to broaden charging accessibility and accelerate EV adoption.

“We are building up Lucena City as a gateway location for wider interregional mobility in the country,” shared Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala. “With this new charging infrastructure at the heart of Lucena, we are enabling more EV owners to travel confidently from South Luzon to Bicol, helping build a more sustainable and connected transport ecosystem.”

The new Lucena EVCS forms an important part of ACMobility’s accelerated expansion of the Philippine EV Spine—currently the largest EV charging network nationwide—linking major cities, transport hubs, and destinations throughout the country. “Every new station means more freedom for EV drivers to go farther and explore more,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “We want Filipinos to enjoy their journeys with confidence, knowing they can charge reliably anywhere in the country.”
