BYD Cars Philippines Achieves Record Sales in 2025; Renews Distributorship with ACMobility

BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, closed 2025 with its strongest performance to date, recording 26,122 units in retail sales and emerging as the fastest-growing automotive brand in the country. This milestone represents a remarkable 446% year-on-year growth, firmly establishing BYD as the market leader in the Philippines’ rapidly expanding New Energy Vehicle (NEV) segment.

The brand’s record-breaking performance was driven by strong consumer demand across its product lineup. Leading the charge was the BYD Seagull, which topped the brand’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales with 4,608 units, while the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i emerged as the top seller in the DM-i range. These results reflect a growing preference among Filipino motorists for sustainable, efficient, and technologically advanced mobility solutions.

“2025 marked a significant milestone in the broader adoption of New Energy Vehicles in the country,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “BYD’s growth shows that when innovation is combined with accessibility, the market responds positively. We remain committed to democratizing electrified mobility and making electric vehicles attainable for Filipino households nationwide.”

Building on this momentum, BYD and ACMobility have officially renewed their distributorship partnership for passenger vehicles in the Philippines, reaffirming their long-term commitment to the local market. Since the partnership began in August 2023, the collaboration has enabled rapid nationwide expansion supported by charging infrastructure and comprehensive aftersales services. By the end of 2025, BYD successfully met its target of 79 operational dealerships nationwide, up from just 25 locations a year earlier.
