The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) formally inducted its 2026 Board of Directors and Committee Heads, marking the start of a new leadership term guided by the theme, “Moving Forward Beyond the Current Challenges, Sustaining Industry Leadership.” The induction signals the association’s continued commitment to resilience, innovation, and sustained growth within the Philippine motorcycle industry amid evolving market and policy landscapes.
The ceremony was led by Honorable Ramon G. Reyes, Undersecretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for Road Transport and Non-Infrastructure, who served as keynote speaker and officiated the induction of the 2026 Executive Board. The newly inducted officers are Mr. Erwin D. Estrada (Honda Philippines, Inc.) as President, Mr. Romeo B. Tan(Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc.) as Vice President, Mr. Norminio C. Mojica (Suzuki Philippines, Inc.) as Treasurer, and Mr. Alexander A. Cumpas (Kawasaki Motor (Phils) Corporation) as Auditor, underscoring strong collaboration among the association’s member manufacturers.


Also inducted were the 2026 Committee Chairmen: Mr. Toni Boi Acuesta (Yamaha) for Marketing, Mr. Raymund Cristobal (Honda) for Road Safety, Mr. Richard Paul Natividad (Kawasaki) for Technical, Atty. Ricardo Brazal(Suzuki) for Government, and Mr. Gilmar de Castro (MDPPA) for the Research and Planning Committee. Their appointment reflects MDPPA’s strategic focus on strengthening key operational pillars, including safety, technical standards, policy engagement, and industry research.
Outgoing President Mr. Alexander A. Cumpas reflected on the association’s milestones during the 2024–2025 term, attributing its achievements to the collective synergy of the member manufacturers. He emphasized that these accomplishments provide a strong foundation for future initiatives aligned with the association’s vision of sustained industry leadership. Meanwhile, Treasurer Mr. Mojica, in his welcome remarks, highlighted the significance of the induction, noting that the association is building on a historic 2025 marked by unprecedented sales performance and looking ahead to another promising chapter for the industry.
Incoming President Mr. Estrada outlined MDPPA’s 2026 strategic roadmap, which includes intensified road safety programs, expanded membership, increased public engagement, and proactive participation in both local and international policy-making and rule-setting. He also announced plans to strengthen collaboration with global automotive associations, including MDPPA’s hosting of the prestigious FAMI Conference in the first quarter of the year. “With the continued support of our members, strong partnerships with government agencies, and the trust of the public, we are confident in elevating the industry and contributing meaningfully to national progress—bringing the joy of mobility and comfort to every Filipino family,” Estrada said.
