The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA), a consortium of four Japanese motorcycle manufacturers—Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha—reported an 11% increase in motorcycle sales for 2025, marking the strongest performance in the association’s 53-year history.
Total wholesale sales of MDPPA member companies reached 1,870,846 units in 2025, a significant rise from 1,681,482 units in 2024. Despite ongoing business and market challenges affecting the industry, the record-breaking figures underscore a banner year for the motorcycle sector and reflect sustained consumer demand nationwide.

Looking ahead, MDPPA President Erwin Estrada cited favorable economic conditions, upcoming local elections, and positive industry developments as key factors supporting continued growth. “Given these conditions, the association has set a conservative growth forecast of 4% for 2026,” Estrada said. This projection translates to approximately 1.945 million units in total sales. He added that, “with no significant uncertainties, we may even reach the 2-million-unit milestone within the year.”
In terms of market segmentation, the Automatic category continued to dominate, accounting for 64% of total sales. The Moped category followed at 17%, slightly ahead of the Business Unit (BU) category at 16.3%. The remaining 2.7% of sales came from the Street and Big Bike categories, reflecting steady interest across diverse motorcycle segments.
