Nissan has officially commenced its line integration project at the Nissan Motor Thailand Plant Line #1 in Samut Prakan province, marking a new chapter in the company’s manufacturing journey in the region. The milestone was celebrated with a special ceremony to honor decades of production excellence and to signify the plant’s evolution for future-ready operations.
Toshihiro Fujiki, President of Nissan Thailand and ASEAN, stated, “Nissan remains committed to strengthening its presence in Thailand and the ASEAN region. A key strategic move this year is the upgrade of our production lines at Nissan Thailand to enhance cost competitiveness and support future model localization. This initiative positions us to continue delivering exciting, Thai-made vehicles to both local and international markets.”
Nissan’s manufacturing legacy in Thailand began in 1962, with the Samut Prakan plant’s Line #1 commencing operations in 1975. For nearly five decades, the plant has produced over 2.5 million vehicles for domestic sales and export.
The newly integrated production line, currently under construction, is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025. Once operational, it will support the production of current models such as the Almera, Kicks e-POWER, Navara, and Terra, as well as upcoming models designed for the Thai and export markets.
