Rider Responde Project Kicks Off: Empowering Motorcycle Riders as First Responders

The Rotary Club of Mandaluyong East, in partnership with local government units and private sector supporters, has officially launched the Rider Responde Project, a life-saving initiative that trains motorcycle riders to serve as first responders during emergencies. The kickoff event took place on September 13, 2025, at the Mandaluyong City Hall (Blue Building), gathering civic leaders, health professionals, and riders for an afternoon of training, advocacy, and community building.

Led by Councilor Leslie Cruz, Dr. Alexandrei Amante MD, DPCOM, RMT, and Wilchard Llanario Jr, RN, the Rider Responde Project aims to train 100 motorcycle riders with essential first aid and advanced emergency response skills. Beyond disease prevention and treatment, the program prepares riders—who are often the first on the scene of accidents—to provide critical assistance when every second counts. Supported by Jabbre Technologies, a Filipino brand known for rider intercom systems, the initiative also underscores the importance of connectivity and safety on the road.

With minimal costs shouldered by partners and volunteers covering snacks, hydration, and training materials for 120–150 participants, the project’s true value lies in its impact: riders equipped with knowledge, confidence, and tools to save lives. More than a training event, Rider Responde embodies Rotary’s mission to empower people, create positive change, and foster safer communities. As the project begins its first leg in Mandaluyong, it envisions a future where every ride could mean a rescue, and every rider could be a hero.
