Royal Enfield, the global leader in the mid-size motorcycle segment, has officially launched the much-anticipated Bear 650 in the Philippines—a bold and versatile new scrambler that fuses classic 60’s scrambler soul with modern engineering. Inspired by the legendary Eddie Mulder and his historic win at the 1960 Big Bear Run, the Bear 650 channels raw grit, instinct, and rugged charisma in a package designed for the adventurous rider.
Fueled by gut feel and powered by Royal Enfield’s celebrated 650cc parallel-twin engine, the Bear 650 delivers 47 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 56.5 Nm of torque at 5,150 rpm—offering improved mid-range punch over its twin siblings. It’s equipped with a unique 2-1 exhaust system for a broader powerband and a compact, single silencer that both reduces weight and enhances its scrambler aesthetic.
“We’ve always drawn deep inspiration from our community and riders who’ve achieved extraordinary feats,” said Anuj Dua, Asia Pacific Business Head at Royal Enfield. “The Bear 650 is not just a motorcycle—it’s a full-send mindset. Built to deliver confidence and control across all terrains, it’s a statement of versatility, resilience, and an uncompromising spirit.”
Scrambler Styling and Performance
Every inch of the Bear 650 speaks to its scrambler DNA. From chunky dual-purpose tyres and contoured scrambler seat to its high ground clearance (184mm) and classic kicked-up rear loop—this motorcycle is ready for both city streets and dusty trails. It rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combo, enhancing its grip and mild off-road ability.
Suspension duties are handled by Showa USD big piston forks in the front with 130mm of travel, and Showa twin-tube RSU at the rear with 115mm of travel—delivering a composed and comfortable ride even on rough terrain.
Modern Features Meet Retro Spirit
While it takes inspiration from a bygone era, the Bear 650 is very much a modern machine. It debuts Royal Enfield’s Tripper Dash, a new TFT display with a simplified user interface, enhanced by sleek black aluminum switch cubes and an intuitive joystick controller for seamless navigation on the move.
