2nd Philippine Auto Parts Expo – “Gawang Pilipino, Para sa Pilipino”

The Philippine Parts Makers Association (PpMA) is in full force in empowering the Local Auto Manufacturing Industry through the 2nd Philapex 2018 with its theme, “Gawang Pilipino, para sa Pilipino!

With the support of the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments (DTI-BOI), PPMA hosted Philapex 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City today August 09 until tomorrow August 10, 2018.

Said event provided an ideal venue for PCMs, Auto parts, Ecozone part and PUV manufacturers, and other stakeholders to present their products and production capabilities. It featured the locally-developed PUV models that are among the choices which the government may consider in the implementation of the proposed eco-PUV Modernization Program. Adding to the fun and experience was the exhibition of locally manufactured vehicles (LMVs) to highlight the manufacturing capabilities and potentials of our local industry which merit support and attention from the government.

A notable improvement on this PhilAPEX 2018 as compared to the 1st PhilAPEX was the addition of Isuzu Philippines Corp. to the originally participating groups such as Toyota Motor Phils. Corp. and Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp. This is a remarkable achievement as this entails more job opportunities and a more sustainable labor force.

As succinctly said by PPMA President, Mr. Ferdinand Raquelsantos, “as this event empowers local suppliers, it will also, in effect, boost the national economy.” Mr. Raquelsantos is very optimistic in the PPMA’s drive to success and added that, more opportunities to every Filipino means we are in a place one step closer to being a progressive country.

PPMA upholds to continue giving aid and representation to local automotive industries by soliciting support from all sectors and individual citizens to advocate and prioritize Filipino-made products. Because the key to a strong Philippine automotive industry is that which is patronized and trusted by their very own government, members and all Filipinos.
