| Troy Alberto ended the third round of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship with a twenty-third and eighteenth place finish as the series made its first of two visits to Italy. The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, a favourite with both rider and fan alike, always produces great racing and the #69 Kawasaki rider found himself in the thick of the action in the weekend’s two fifteen lap encounters. A reduced ten lap opener following a red flag saw Troy cross the line twenty-third after improving from P27 on the grid. Determined to improve Sunday after a solid morning warm up, the rider from the Philippines made a great start, immediately making up places and swiftly moving to the lead of the second group. He then set about closing the gap to the leading group, which he did, running inside the points scoring positions in what was a frenetic fight. He finished eighteenth. Troy now looks ahead to round four at the iconic Imola circuit in the middle of July. |

Troy Alberto: “Friday was actually really good, and we were close to the top ten in both free practice sessions and I was feeling really confident. I messed up in Superpole which meant P27 on the grid for both races which was far from ideal. Starting so far back I knew the races would be difficult, but I was determined to give it my all as usual to recover as many places as possible. Race one was not so bad, but I struggled to overtake people and finished twenty third but only a couple of seconds from the lead. My pace was good, but the qualifying cost us. For race two I made a decent start and made up a few positions in the early laps. The race was really intense, but I managed to get to the front of the second group, but we had lost a lot of time. I crossed the line P18 but was running P14 at one point after I had closed in on the front group. I am happy with the pace that we showed and look forward to the next race in Imola which will be a new challenge for me as it’s a circuit that I have never been to. I want to thank the team for their work. See you at the next one.”
