Honda Donates Life-Saving Generators to Power Communities

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the country’s No. 1 motorcycle manufacturer and power products provider, has reinforced its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating a total of 140 units of 6.5KVA generator sets to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). The first batch of 70 units was turned over in September 2024, with the remaining 70 units officially handed over this year to complete the pledge. The donation underscores HPI’s advocacy for community development, disaster readiness, and saving lives under its banner, “Honda Loves You.”

The PRC has long been a trusted partner of HPI in reaching communities during times of crisis, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and Super Typhoon Odette in 2021. These newly donated generator sets will power emergency response operations, support medical equipment, and ensure continuous communication during calamities and disasters such as typhoons and the ongoing La Niña phenomenon. By enhancing the PRC’s capacity, the donation provides essential resources for timely assistance and community safety in critical situations.

Present at the turnover ceremony were HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi and Assistant Vice President for Business Administration Juan Gerry Datario, alongside other HPI officers and staff. Representing the PRC were Chairman Richard Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang. HPI reaffirmed its aspiration to be “a company that society wants to exist,” by not only serving people with the joy of mobility and comfort but also expanding life potential through meaningful social contributions.
