Caltex Jumpstarts Davao City leg of Fuel Your School

Targets STEM learning assistance for highest need public senior high schools

Caltex’s multi-awarded Fuel Your School (FYS) program is now in Davao!  Caltex FYS cycle 2 is driven by the overwhelming response brought in by  6.7 million digital impressions received  when this global program was launched in the Philippines last year, with Metro Manila’s most disadvantaged senior-ready public high schools as the pioneer beneficiaries. For 2016, Caltex FYS will fund Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classroom projects for Davao City’s highest need public schools that will be accepting their first Grades 11 students this school year, in compliance with the Department of Education’s K-12 program.

From June 1 to 30, Caltex will donate one peso (P1) for every liter of fuel purchase in the 22 Caltex stations in Davao City. Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of the Caltex fuels and lubricants, aims to raise three million pesos (P3M) under this fuel-to-donate program. The fund will be used to procure much-needed teaching materials and equipment on STEM subjects as requested by the teachers from the 30 highest-need public senior high schools selected by program partners the Department of Education Region 11 office and American Chamber Foundation (ACF).
