inDrive reinforces its commitment to fair and accessible mobility by rolling out initiatives to support drivers and commuters amid rising fuel prices. As operating costs continue to increase, drivers face reduced earnings while passengers grow concerned about ride affordability, prompting the platform to act on maintaining balance across both sides of the mobility ecosystem.
Recognizing the financial strain on transport workers, inDrive expressed support for the government’s fuel subsidy program, which provides Php 5,000 assistance to qualified drivers, including TNVS operators. Complementing this effort, the company has launched a Php 2.7 million fuel voucher program for active partner drivers, aimed at easing daily operating expenses and helping drivers sustain their income without passing additional costs on to passengers.
To further strengthen cost-saving opportunities, inDrive is expanding its fuel partnerships, including its renewed collaboration with SeaOil. Through the PriceLOCQ app, drivers can access fuel discounts at participating stations nationwide, along with added benefits such as a VIP Rides digital loyalty card and a rewards system that can be redeemed for fuel and vehicle-related needs.
The platform is also enhancing driver earning potential through targeted incentive programs, including the rollout of “Purple Zones”—high-demand areas where drivers can benefit from significantly reduced commission rates of as low as 1%. Outside these zones, inDrive maintains a competitive 10% commission rate, among the lowest globally. Additional incentives reward active driving and trip completion, while the platform continues to shoulder mandated discounts for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and students without affecting driver income.
“As rising fuel prices continue to impact our partner drivers, we recognize our responsibility to provide sustainable solutions that support their livelihood while ensuring passengers have access to reliable and affordable rides,” said Sofia Guinto. inDrive affirmed its ongoing commitment to working closely with its driver community and partners, continuously monitoring market conditions, and adapting its programs to better serve the evolving needs of the TNVS sector.
