VinFast VF6 Proves Real-World EV Capability in Philippines Test Drive

VinFast Philippines showcased the real-world capability of its VF6 electric vehicle during a two-day test drive held from April 16 to 17, 2026, where media and key opinion leaders experienced the EV across mixed driving conditions from Caloocan to Laguna. The activity was designed to reflect everyday Filipino driving scenarios, combining city roads, expressways, and heavy traffic along Skyway and SLEX, highlighting the VF6’s adaptability, comfort, and performance beyond controlled environments.

Throughout the drive, participants experienced the VF6’s advanced features in real-time conditions, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, and 360-degree camera support, all of which contributed to safer and more relaxed driving across varying road environments. The VF6’s 210-horsepower electric motor delivered smooth acceleration and stable handling, while its efficiency was demonstrated through consistent energy consumption even with passenger load, air conditioning use, and mixed driving styles.

Charging convenience and cost efficiency further strengthened the VF6’s appeal, with the vehicle capable of charging from 10% to 70% in around 25 minutes and estimated running costs as low as ₱1.95 per kilometer. In real-world test runs covering approximately 70–80 kilometers, the VF6 showed only moderate battery consumption, reinforcing its suitability for both daily commutes and longer provincial trips, supported by a driving range of up to 480 km (NEDC).

Inside, the VF6 combines technology and comfort with a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full suite of safety systems including forward collision warning, blind spot detection, and automatic emergency braking. Overall, the test drive highlighted the VF6 as a practical, efficient, and accessible EV option for Filipino drivers transitioning to electric mobility.
