Following the successful rollout of its premium family movers, GAC Philippines is expanding its electric mobility lineup with a fresh entry into the compact segment. The brand officially introduces the all-new GAC AION UT, a global EV hatchback designed to bring stylish, efficient, and intelligent urban driving to Filipino motorists under the group’s growing new-energy strategy.
Positioned as a compact 5-seater EV hatchback, the AION UT has already gained strong traction in key global markets including Thailand, Australia, Europe, and Latin America. Now arriving in the Philippines, it combines contemporary European-inspired styling with advanced electric vehicle engineering, offering a balance of sustainability, practicality, and premium urban appeal for modern city lifestyles.

Despite its compact exterior footprint, the AION UT delivers what early observers describe as “big car energy,” with an unexpectedly spacious cabin and lounge-like interior layout. Built for dense urban environments, it offers a refined sense of space that challenges traditional hatchback limitations, making it particularly suitable for daily commuting, ride-sharing, and family use in tight city conditions.
“This milestone allows us to further serve and diversify our brand offerings in the local mobility scene,” said Steven Wang, Senior Vice President of GAC International. “We are confident that the AION UT will bolster dynamic, safe, and sustainable driving for Filipinos as we continue expanding our electric vehicle portfolio in 2026.”

At its core, the AION UT emphasizes three pillars of urban mobility: generous interior space, advanced safety technology, and practical utility. It features a long 2,750mm wheelbase with up to 905mm of rear legroom, supported by a comprehensive ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and a 360-degree camera system. It also delivers flexible practicality through 24 storage compartments, a 440-liter expandable cargo space, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for powering external devices.

Powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and equipped with a 47.1 kWh LFP “Magazine Battery,” the AION UT Elite variant produces 100 kW (136 PS) and 145 Nm of torque, optimized for efficient city performance. Fast charging allows 30% to 80% replenishment in around 30 minutes. The model rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/60 R16 tires and features a digital cockpit with an 8.88-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
