VinFast E-Motorcycle, the two-wheeler division of VinFast, is highlighting the IP67-rated powertrain of its newly launched electric motorcycle lineup, designed to provide added protection for riders navigating the Philippines’ rainy and flood-prone road conditions. The VinFast Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, officially launched locally on July 31, feature IP67-rated motors and motor control units (MCUs), offering protection against dust and water exposure while supporting the brand’s goal of delivering practical and reliable electric mobility for Filipino riders.
According to VinFast’s internal testing, the powertrain can withstand submersion in 0.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, as well as 30 minutes of riding through water at the same depth. Beyond water and dust protection, the e-motorcycles undergo additional durability measures, including a 500-hour salt spray test for corrosion resistance. Their batteries are designed to meet ECE-R136 safety requirements for impact protection and feature overvoltage and overtemperature protection, while VinFast’s internal durability testing has subjected the batteries to temperatures of up to 80°C. Together, these measures are intended to provide additional protection for everyday riding in the Philippines’ hot, humid, and rainy conditions.
| Model | Battery Configuration | Power / Top Speed | Maximum Range | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VinFast Evo | Up to two removable 1.5 kWh LFP batteries | Up to 5,200W / 80 km/h | Up to 150 km | IP67-rated motor and MCU |
| VinFast Feliz II | Up to two removable 1.5 kWh LFP batteries | Up to 90 km/h | Up to 145 km | IP67-rated motor and MCU |
| VinFast Viper | Up to two removable 1.5 kWh LFP batteries | Similar performance to lineup | — | TFT display, smart key, anti-theft protection, vehicle tracking, IP67-rated motor and MCU |
VinFast also backs its electric motorcycles with up to six years or 72,000 km of warranty coverage, with purchased batteries receiving the same coverage, while subscribed batteries are covered throughout the subscription period. The company inaugurated 21 e-motorcycle dealerships during its Philippine launch and plans to continue expanding its network alongside its battery-swapping infrastructure. With electric powertrains offering lower running costs, VinFast estimates that riders can save 17% to 28% in total ownership costs over five years versus similarly positioned gasoline motorcycles, depending on the model and ownership option. Through a combination of protective engineering, practical performance, and expanding ownership support, VinFast aims to make electric two-wheel mobility a more accessible option for Filipino riders, particularly during the rainy season.
