Metro Manila’s streets are beginning to hum with a quieter, cleaner rhythm as Green GSM’s VinFast-made electric taxis redefine urban mobility. Since their launch in June, these blue-and-green EVs—operated by the Philippines’ first all-electric ride-hailing service—have brought the concept of sustainable transport directly to commuters. Each ride offers passengers a firsthand experience of what the future of cleaner, more efficient travel could feel like, making electric vehicles a familiar and trusted part of everyday life.
Beyond the rides themselves, VinFast is laying the groundwork to ensure this transformation lasts. In partnership with global EV charging developer V-Green, the company is working toward a nationwide network of around 15,000 charging ports, alongside expanding dealerships, service centers, and financing programs. This ecosystem-based approach builds the “infrastructure of confidence,” reducing range anxiety, improving maintenance reliability, and making EV ownership more attainable for Filipinos.
These efforts align with the Philippine government’s Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which promotes cleaner transport and job creation in green industries. As more chargers appear in malls, offices, and highways, and more drivers switch to electric ride-hailing, the shift toward electrified mobility gains momentum—one quiet trip at a time. What once seemed like a futuristic vision is now becoming a daily reality in Manila, signaling that the country’s journey toward sustainable transport is well underway.
