Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH), through the united efforts of its Marine, Automobile, and Motorcycle divisions, proudly participated in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2025 held on September 20, 2025, in Panglao, Bohol. Partnering with DES Strong Motors Corporation, Suzuki’s authorized dealer of Suzuki Marine, Automobile, and Motorcycle products in the area, the initiative highlighted Suzuki’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable community engagement.

Spearheaded by The Bellevue Resort in Panglao, this year’s ICC gathered more than 1,200 participants from various sectors—students, community groups, local government units, and partner organizations all working toward a shared mission of protecting marine and coastal ecosystems. Representing Suzuki Philippines were Mr. Yukio Sato, General Manager for After-Sales Service and Marine Division, and Mr. Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager for the Automobile Division, who joined hands with employees of DES Strong Motors to carry out cleanup operations.

The activity was conducted through three focused teams: the Doljo Beach Team, which carried out a 2-kilometer shoreline sweep; the Underwater Team, which removed marine debris; and the Segregation and Audit Team, led by Plastic Free Bohol, which handled proper waste classification. Together, the participants successfully collected 194 sacks of non-biodegradable waste weighing 954.38 kilograms, including plastics, glass, metals, and hazardous materials, with safe disposal supported by LGU Panglao.

More than a cleanup, the event became a shared experience of responsibility and unity for the environment. With engaging activities, community participation, and tokens of appreciation from Suzuki, the drive reinforced the company’s promise of being “By Your Side”—not only in mobility but also in building a cleaner, greener future. The collaboration with DES Strong Motors and other partners demonstrated how corporations and communities can join forces to combat marine pollution and protect natural resources for generations to come.
