YAMAHA PHILIPPINES RACING TEAM RETURNS TO MALAYSIA FOR ARRC ROUND 5

• Paz carries season-best momentum to Sepang as Mascardo and Rojas prepare to respond in the penultimate round

SEPANG, MALAYSIA – September 4, 2026 — The Yamaha Philippines Racing Team returns to international competition as the 2026 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) heads to the Petronas Sepang International Circuit for Round 5 from September 4 to 6. With the championship entering its penultimate round, McKinley Kyle Paz, April King Mascardo, and Timothy Rojas return to the international stage with different challenges but a shared determination to deliver stronger performances against Asia’s best riders.

Competing for the Hong Leong Yamaha Racing Team in the Supersport 600 (SS600) category, Paz arrives in Malaysia carrying his strongest momentum of the season. At the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia, Paz started Race 1 from P7 and charged to fourth before producing an even stronger performance in Race 2, battling at the front and crossing the line in P2. The result marked his best finish of the 2026 season and his second podium after securing P3 in Thailand. With greater competitiveness shown in recent rounds, Paz now looks to build on that progress as he returns to the demanding Sepang circuit.

Meanwhile, April King Mascardo and Timothy Rojas of the Yamaha Racetech Philippines Racing Team are determined to bounce back in the Underbone 150 (UB150) category following a difficult Round 4 in Indonesia. Mascardo, who had delivered a consistent showing in Japan, finished P12 in both races at Mandalika, while Rojas placed P19 in Race 1 and P21 in Race 2. Sepang gives both riders an opportunity to reset, apply the lessons learned from the opening four rounds, and fight for stronger results. Mascardo will aim to regain his competitiveness in the tightly contested UB150 field, while Rojas continues to gain valuable international experience in his first ARRC campaign.

With only two rounds remaining in the 2026 championship, every position and every point becomes increasingly important for the Yamaha Philippines Racing Team.
