Chevron, one of the Philippines’ oldest multinational brands, reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to education by returning as a platinum sponsor of the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc.’s (AmCham) 11th ScholaCOLORun. The annual fun run, held at Liwasang Ulalim in Pasay City, drew 3,458 runners, including 290 participants from Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) and Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI). Proceeds from the event will support the current batch of 109 AmCham scholars, helping fund their tuition, allowances, and career development.
Chevron has partnered with AmCham for over 15 years to promote access to quality education, benefiting more than 2,400 scholars throughout the years. AmCham President Edwin Feist emphasized that education is a powerful tool in fighting poverty and praised Chevron’s consistent support. He noted that Chevron has always shared AmCham’s vision, playing a key role in sustaining the foundation’s educational programs, particularly the ScholaCOLORun.
CHI General Manager Ethan Flowers highlighted the alignment between Chevron’s global business operations and its educational advocacy. “Education is the foundation of the services we deliver,” he said, reaffirming Chevron’s dedication to building brighter futures for Filipino youth. Chevron also fielded one of the event’s largest delegations, showing the company’s commitment to both community service and employee wellness.
Among Chevron participants were employees Emil Bertolano and Mico Fetalvero, who expressed how meaningful it is to contribute to education through the fun run. Fetalvero noted that the event is timely given the funding gaps in public education, while Bertolano, a four-time ScholaCOLORun participant, described the event as a win-win opportunity to stay healthy while making a difference in students’ lives.
Chevron continues to prioritize education in its corporate social responsibility efforts, strengthening partnerships with AmCham and relevant government agencies. The company remains steadfast in its mission to empower Filipino students through sustained support and impactful community engagement. For more information, visit chevron.com/worldwide/philippines.
