Grab, MOVE IT, and COMELEC Launch #RideToVote to Empower Voters and Ease Election Day Commutes

As part of its commitment to nation-building, Grab Philippines and motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT have partnered with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to launch #RideToVote, a two-phase campaign aimed at educating and empowering voters ahead of the May 12 midterm elections. The initiative underscores the importance of an informed electorate and seeks to make election participation more accessible for Filipinos across the country.

Grab is utilizing its digital ecosystem—including its superapp, social media channels, and influencer networks—to distribute critical election information in collaboration with COMELEC. These materials include election day checklists, identification requirements, and guidelines on voting procedures. The campaign aims to equip the public with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and confidently participate in the upcoming elections.

Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda emphasized the company’s broader vision for progress, stating, “As a partner in nation-building and progress, Grab Philippines recognizes that an informed and empowered electorate is the cornerstone of a strong democracy.” He added that this collaboration is a reflection of Grab’s dedication to the Filipino people—not only in their daily commutes but also in shaping the country’s future through meaningful civic engagement.

Complementing the educational push is a transport accessibility program designed to remove barriers to voter turnout. On election day, users can enter the promo code RIDETOVOTE in the Grab app to receive a P50 discount on GrabCar rides between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, MOVE IT is offering a P20 discount with the code BOTONAMI from May 10 to 12, allowing voters using motorcycle taxis a more affordable ride to their polling stations.

To further support voter mobility, Grab will establish booking assistance stations at 10 key voting centers in Metro Manila and Cebu. Staffed by trained brand ambassadors, these booths will help users book rides through GrabCar or MOVE IT, ensuring that voters, especially those unfamiliar with app-based booking, can access safe and budget-friendly transportation options with ease.

In a show of inclusive governance, COMELEC is also implementing Early Voting Hours from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. for senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant voters. Registered vulnerable voters on the Grab platform will receive a special promo code for FREE rides during this period. COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia lauded the campaign, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration in strengthening democratic participation and ensuring that every Filipino—regardless of circumstance—has the means and opportunity to vote.
