VinFast has launched its web-based Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Calculator, giving Filipino consumers an interactive way to compare the long-term costs of owning a VinFast battery electric vehicle (BEV) with a comparable internal-combustion engine (ICE) vehicle. Available through the VinFast Philippines website, the tool factors in variables such as monthly driving distance, fuel or electricity costs, financing, maintenance, battery ownership option, and intended ownership period to provide a more personalized view of potential savings.
Designed to move the EV purchase conversation beyond upfront price and vehicle specifications, the calculator allows users to select a VinFast model, input their driving habits and ownership preferences, and receive estimated monthly energy costs, financing expenses, and total ownership projections. For example, a sample calculation for a VinFast VF 7 Plus with a battery subscription, driven 2,000 kilometers per month over five years, estimates total ownership costs of ₱1,884,890, compared with ₱3,156,240 for an ICE vehicle under the same assumptions—a potential difference of ₱1,271,350, or approximately 40%.
The launch of the TCO Calculator reinforces VinFast’s effort to make EV ownership economics more transparent and accessible to Filipino motorists, particularly as fuel and household transportation costs remain important considerations. Rather than relying solely on general claims about EV savings, consumers can use the tool to explore scenarios based on their own driving patterns and ownership plans, helping them make more informed decisions about the long-term financial implications of switching to electric mobility. The VinFast TCO Calculator is now available online through the brand’s official Philippine website.
