AC Motors and Bosch Forge a New Venture to Introduce Bosch Car Service in the Philippines

AC Motors, a subsidiary of the Ayala Group, and Bosch Philippines have announced a groundbreaking collaboration to reintroduce Bosch Car Service (BCS) in the Philippines. This strategic partnership signifies a significant milestone for both AC Motors and Bosch, a renowned global technology and services provider.

Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of AC Motors, expressed, “We have long recognized the automotive aftermarket segment as a crucial touchpoint in the customer life cycle. Ayala and Bosch have a rich history of collaboration, and it is through Bosch that we have found the ideal partner to offer casa-level service and provide Filipino motorists with affordable yet high-quality parts.”

Marcio Coelho, Vice President of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket ASEAN, added, “We are proud to embark on this journey alongside our strong partner, the Ayala Group, to reshape the car service landscape in the Philippines. We aim to achieve this by incorporating integrated vehicle technologies and expanding our global network of independent workshops, which already spans 12,000 BCS outlets across 150 countries.”

The Bosch Car Service venture is set to offer “one-stop-shop services,” encompassing everything from mechanical repairs to intricate electronics, engine systems, safety features, comfort enhancements, transmission expertise, diagnostics, and more.

Paulo Duarte, Managing Director of Bosch Philippines, emphasized the importance of accessibility to these services, particularly in the Philippines, where transportation infrastructure and demand have surged due to the rapid economic growth. Duarte stated, “Together with AC Motors, we stand as advocates not only for extending a vehicle’s lifespan but for enhancing road safety by making effective, intelligent, and convenient maintenance accessible to all.”

Antonio Zara, President of AC Motors, highlighted their confidence in leveraging AC Motors’ extensive aftersales experience to provide a level of service previously unseen in the aftermarket segment. Zara also mentioned their joint ambition with Bosch to transform Bosch Car Service into the country’s largest automotive aftermarket service provider within the next decade.

The plan for this collaboration is ambitious, with AC Motors and Bosch aiming to establish 20 new outlets by 2024 and further expand the network to encompass 60 outlets over the next five years. These outlets will be equipped to cater to the growing number of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. In addition, they have plans to gradually introduce repair and maintenance capabilities for electric vehicles (EVs) at select locations, aligning with the global shift towards electric mobility.
