BAN ON TRICYCLES, PUSH CARTS, PEDICABS, KULIGLIGS, E-BIKES, E-TRIKES, AND LIGHT ELECTRIC VEHICLES ON NATIONAL ROADS

Starting April 15, a ban will be enforced on tricycles, pushcarts, pedicabs, kuligligs, e-bikes, e-trikes, and light electric vehicles on national, circumferential, and radial roads in Metro Manila.

Here are the main roads where these vehicles cannot pass or cross:

Drivers caught using these vehicles on selected main roads in Metro Manila will be fined P 2,500. Units will be confiscated and impounded if they are unregistered and/or the driver cannot present a license.

Recently, the Metro Manila Council approved MMDA Regulation No. 24-002 Series of 2024, which prohibits tricycles, pushcarts, pedicabs, kuligligs, e-bikes, e-trikes, and light electric vehicles from using national roads, circumferential roads, radial roads, and areas under the jurisdiction of the MMDA.

This is due to the increasing number of light electric vehicles on the roads and the rising incidents of road crashes they are involved in. #mmda
