Honda Philippines Maintains Racing Excellence at the 2023 Inside Racing Grand Prix (IRGP)

  • An exciting day of racing just concluded in one of the greatest motorcycle competitions in the country.

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), recently participated in the 16th Inside Racing Grand Prix
(IRGP). This year’s event was dubbed as “IRGPXVI: LEGENDS ARE FOREVER!” and was
held last December 15 to 17,2023 at the Tarlac Circuit Hill.


HPI’s participation in this event is part of the plan with the “Road to Champion” campaign for on-road sports to emphasize and expand its exposure in Domestic Racing This year, HPI sponsored two of the country’s most promising motorcycle young racers, Jakob Sablaya, and Alfonsi Daquigan. Jakob Sablaya, 18, represented Honda Project M Koby Racing Team gaining podium finishes, 3rd Place in MotoIR Grand Prix using the CBR150R, and 2nd Place in Super Sports 300 Grand Prix using the CBR300R race bikes.

Meanwhile another racer, the 14-year-old Alfonsi Daquigan got the Pole Position Award for the MotoIR Grand Prix race category under the Sharp Honda SCK Philippines Racing Team using the CBR150R. Both riders had shown their potential as a future international riders.
Despite fierce competition, Sablaya showed his competitors that still he could have what it
takes to stand out by showing his skills in the Underbone Limited finishes in 4th Place and in Underbone Open race category finishing 7th Place while exerting his efforts using the Supra GTR150.


HPI President Ms. Sayaka Arai emphasizes that ‘’ We are very happy with the results and efforts of Mr. Sablaya and Mr. Daquigan they are truly indicative of a job well done. Honda is to support young riders who are achieving their dream of becoming a champion.’’
