Kia’s Electrified Lineup Drives Modern Filipino Mobility This World EV Day

In celebration of World EV Day, Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, is highlighting its expanding electric vehicle lineup designed to make sustainable mobility more practical for modern Filipino drivers. Led by the Kia EV5 and flagship Kia EV9, the lineup combines advanced technology, everyday usability, and versatile space, while being supported by ACMobility’s growing nationwide EV charging network. “World EV Day is a reminder that sustainable driving is rapidly transforming into the standard for modern Filipino roads,” said Jay Lopez, Managing Director of Kia Philippines. “Our growing EV lineup, which includes the EV5 and EV9 as well as the upcoming EV3 and PV5, provides drivers with purpose-built electric technology and versatile space designed for their daily lives.”

The Kia EV5 is designed to bridge everyday work and leisure, offering a practical cabin equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 3.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for powering electronic devices on the go. Its dedicated EV platform pairs an 88.1 kWh LFP battery with a front motor producing 217 PS and 310 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of up to 550 kilometers. Meanwhile, the Kia EV9 serves as Kia’s flagship three-row electric SUV, combining family practicality with executive-level comfort. Its second-row Relaxation Seats feature power adjustment, ventilation, and massage functions, while its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 384 PS and 700 Nm. Its 99.8 kWh battery offers up to 505 kilometers of range and supports 350 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10-to-80% charge in less than 30 minutes. The EV9 was also named both World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle of the Year at the 2024 World Car Awards.

Kia Philippines is further expanding its electrified portfolio with the upcoming Kia EV3 and Kia PV5, both scheduled for local launch within the year. The compact EV3 is set to officially launch this September, bringing practical range and user-focused technology to Filipino drivers and first-time EV buyers, while the PV5 electric van will follow in October with its cargo variant aimed at businesses, fleet operators, and commercial transport. Supporting Kia’s growing EV ecosystem is ACMobility’s charging network, now accessible in more than 200 locations nationwide and connecting the Philippine EV Spine from Pagudpud in the north to General Santos City in the south.
