Mookem Motocross – A comfy ADV helmet for all-around riding

The adventure style helmet is arguably the most practical among the different styles of motorcycle helmet. You get a chin bar for additional protection and a sun visor to shield your eyes from the glare of the sun. Such is the case with the Mookem Motocross. Yeah, the model name is a bit confusing but its styling is unmistakable.

The pricing of this adventure helmet from Mookem is equally practical as it sells only for P 3,100. At that price point, the Mookem Motocross already comes with a built-in dark lens and an anti-bacterial inner lining. You know that this lid is intended for some serious riding because it comes with a double-D ring retention strap. It is, of course, backed by DOT and ECE safety ratings.

When I took it to a day of adventure riding using the Suzuki V-STROM 250 SX, the first thing I noticed was how comfortable it was to wear. I practically had it on all day and I didn’t feel any discomfort whatsoever. There’s ample space inside for my ears and my rather chunky spectacles. Another contributing factor to its comfort is its lightness. Weighing only 1,550 grams, according to my kitchen scale, the Mookem Motocross won’t leave you fatigued even after a day of riding.

That being said, I think this helmet would also do well in commuting or riding around town. Imagine looking so badass as you zip about as you do your errands. What I particularly liked about this helmet is that the chin bar has just the right protrusion so as not to stifle (like some full-face helmets do) but still doesn’t obscure peripheral view. Speaking of which, the clear lens is optically-correct registers no visual distortion (which is not the case in all adventure helmets).

The Mookem Motocross comes in different colorways, even in camo. How cool is that? You may follow the Mookem Philippines FB page for more information or simply drop by any of Mookem’s dealer shops to get a good fit.
