The OMODA E5, OMODA Philippines’ first fully-electric crossover SUV, has been officially certified by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) after surpassing its published range of 430 kilometers in an efficiency test. Two OMODA E5 vehicles were tested over a 13-hour drive, maintaining an average speed of 80 km/h across six destinations. The first vehicle achieved a total range of 442.7 kilometers, while the second vehicle reached 428.8 kilometers, both exceeding the car’s stated range. The test was conducted with real-world conditions in mind, including the use of air conditioning, headlights, and infotainment systems, ensuring the results accurately reflected typical driving experiences.
The certification process involved setting the vehicles to extreme energy-saving modes, with regenerative braking and adaptive cruise control activated. Each vehicle carried three passengers and 10 kg of cargo, driving within a speed range of 60 to 100 km/h depending on road conditions. By the end of the test, the first vehicle had a 2% battery charge left with 8 km of range remaining, while the second vehicle had a 7% battery charge with 28 km of range left. This test validated OMODA E5’s efficiency and long-distance capability, meeting the expectations of modern electric vehicle owners.

According to Marco Chen, Country Director of OMODA Philippines, this certification highlights the OMODA E5’s blend of style, comfort, and efficiency, further showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation in automotive engineering. The certification not only affirms the vehicle’s long-range capability but also its ability to deliver a comfortable driving experience, even during extended trips.
