Suzuki Philippines Ignites Excitement at the National Motorcycle Convention 2024

Suzuki Philippines ignited a blaze of excitement at the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines (NFMCP) Convention 2024, unveiling two highly anticipated models that set a new standard in high-performance biking: the GSX-8R and the GSX-S1000GX. Held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center on April 26-27, 2024, this launch marked a pivotal moment for Suzuki, reaffirming its commitment to pushing the boundaries of motorcycle engineering and design.

Mr. Norminio “Boying” Mojica, Managing Director of Suzuki Philippines, declared, “With the introduction of the GSX-8R and GSX-S1000GX, a new era for Big Bikes in the Philippines begins.” His sentiments were echoed by Mr. Joey Salavarria, Division Head for MC Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Philippines, who emphasized the models’ Japanese-inspired manufacturing engineering, setting them apart since their debut at EICMA last year.

The GSX-8R, engineered for speed and precision handling, features a 776cm Parallel Twin Engine, delivering exhilarating acceleration and a responsive ride. Its design, inspired by the GSX-R’s 35-year history, exudes mass-forward aggressive stance and well-balanced proportions, promising an exciting era of sportbike riding. Priced at an SRP of Php 679,000, it’s available in Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Matte Black.

On the other hand, the GSX-S1000GX elevates street performance with a 999cm3 liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four engine, delivering raw power and control under diverse riding conditions. Derived from the engine of the GSXR1000 supersport machine, this street-tuned powerplant satisfies Euro 5 emissions standards while satisfying adrenaline-seeking riders. Available in Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black, it’s priced at an SRP of Php 969,000.

The event drew prominent figures including former President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Bato Dela Rosa, and Senator JV Ejercito, passionate motorcycle riders and advocates of road safety. Wheeltek VP for Sales and Marketing, Mr. Roscoe Odulio, joined Team Suzuki, along with Suzuki executives, highlighting Suzuki’s commitment to the motorcycle community.

Beyond the launch, Suzuki Philippines showcased popular big bikes such as the Hayabusa, GSX-R1000, and V-STROM series, catering to various riding styles and purposes.
