VINFAST HIGHLIGHTS BATTERY SWAPPING AS A PRACTICAL SOLUTION FOR THE PHILIPPINES’ E-MOTORCYCLE FUTURE

MANILA, Philippines — As electric motorcycles continue to gain traction across Southeast Asia, VinFast is addressing one of the biggest concerns among prospective riders—what happens when the battery runs low. Through its growing battery-swapping ecosystem, the company aims to make electric two-wheel mobility more convenient by allowing riders to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones in just minutes, eliminating the wait associated with conventional charging. The initiative forms part of VinFast’s broader vision of making electric motorcycles more practical and accessible for everyday commuters, delivery riders, and small business owners across the Philippines.

Unlike traditional charging, VinFast’s battery-swapping system enables riders to continue their journey by simply replacing a depleted battery at participating swapping stations. Working through V-Green and local partners, the company plans to establish approximately 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide, significantly expanding charging accessibility and helping reduce range anxiety. Customers can also choose between two ownership options: a Battery Subscription plan, which includes access to the swapping network for ₱439 per battery per month, or Battery Ownership, allowing riders to purchase the battery outright and conveniently charge it at home.

The flexible ownership model extends across VinFast’s electric motorcycle lineup, including the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. Each model features removable and interchangeable batteries, smartphone connectivity, home charging capability, and warranties of up to six years or 72,000 kilometers on the battery. Customers who reserve an e-motorcycle on or before July 31, 2026 will also receive a free one-year battery subscription for one battery and enjoy up to 20 free battery swaps per month during the promotional period, making the transition to electric mobility even more affordable.

VinFast’s battery-swapping strategy has already demonstrated success in Vietnam, where the company has produced over one million electric motorcycles and operates more than 4,500 battery-swapping stations, with plans to expand to 60,000 battery cabinets. As the Philippines accelerates its shift toward cleaner transportation, VinFast believes that combining battery swapping, flexible ownership options, and a growing charging ecosystem will play a vital role in accelerating electric motorcycle adoption while delivering greater convenience, lower operating costs, and a seamless ownership experience for Filipino riders.
