YAMAHA PHILIPPINES RACING TEAM FIGHTS BACK STRONG AT ARRC ROUND 2 IN THAILAND

PAZ REBOUNDS WITH PODIUM FINISH AFTER SETBACK
Yamaha Motor Philippines delivered a powerful display of resilience at Round 2 of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) held at Chang International Circuit in Thailand. McKinley Kyle Paz, competing in the Supersport 600 class under the Hong Leong Yamaha Racing Team, started the weekend on a strong note after qualifying P5 and showing competitive pace against a tightly packed field.

In Race 1, Paz was in contention for a solid result before a late-race crash forced him to retire, ending the race with a DNF. However, he quickly recovered mentally and physically, returning to Race 2 with renewed determination. His comeback drive resulted in a well-earned P3 finish, securing his first podium of the 2026 season and marking a significant turnaround after a difficult opening race.

MASCARDO SHOWS CONSISTENCY, ROJAS GAINS EXPERIENCE IN UNDERBONE 150
In the Underbone 150 category, the Yamaha Racetech Philippines Racing Team continued its international campaign with April King Mascardo and Timothy Rojas taking on a highly competitive grid. Mascardo qualified strongly in P2, positioning himself as one of the frontrunners early in the weekend.

Despite a challenging pair of races, Mascardo managed to secure P11 in Race 1 and improved to P8 in Race 2, consistently battling in the midfield and demonstrating steady pace under pressure. Meanwhile, Rojas, one of the newer riders in Yamaha’s international lineup, qualified P20 but showed gradual improvement throughout the weekend, finishing P14 in Race 1 and P13 in Race 2, gaining valuable experience against Asia’s best riders.

A WEEKEND OF GRIT AND RECOVERY FOR YAMAHA PHILIPPINES
Round 2 of the ARRC proved to be a demanding test of endurance, skill, and mental strength for all competitors, with extreme race conditions and intense pace pushing riders to their limits. For Yamaha Philippines, the weekend became a clear demonstration of persistence and recovery under pressure.

From Paz’s dramatic podium comeback in the Supersport 600 class to the continued development of Mascardo and Rojas in the Underbone 150 category, the team showcased determination and steady progress across both classes. Each rider contributed to a collective effort that reflected Yamaha’s commitment to growth on the international stage.

With momentum beginning to build, Yamaha Philippines now shifts focus to the next round of the championship, aiming to carry forward the lessons learned in Thailand as they continue their pursuit to “Defy Limits” in the Asia Road Racing Championship.
