14th Philippine EV Summit Opens Amid Record Growth in Electric Vehicle Sales

The 14th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) opened at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, highlighting the country’s growing electric mobility industry. From January to July 2026, electrified vehicle sales increased by 136.4% to 38,286 units, while battery electric vehicle sales surged nearly 300% to 10,476 units. Organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) under the theme “Driving ASEAN Forward: Building an Integrated Electric Mobility Ecosystem,” the summit runs until October 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.

More than 15 automotive and mobility brands are showcasing vehicles and offering test drives, including BYD, Kia, Toyota, Nissan, MG, Geely, Zeekr, Deepal, MINI, Lotus, Changan, AVATR, Dongfeng Motors, Forland, NWOW, and NXT. The exhibits cover a wide range of options, from city cars and family SUVs to premium vehicles, commercial models, and electric two-wheelers. EVAP President Willy Q. Tee Ten emphasized that the growing number of brands gives Filipino consumers more choices, competitive prices, and technologies suited to different budgets and lifestyles.

Beyond vehicles, the summit features charging solutions for homes, businesses, industrial facilities, and fleets, alongside financing and insurance providers. The Department of Energy reported 1,569 charging points nationwide and 258 accredited charging station providers as of March 31, 2026. The Philippine EV Community, representing a network of 100,000 EV owners, is also leading an owner-focused vehicle display and will facilitate discussions on October 24. Government officials, including Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin and Science and Technology Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., delivered messages during the opening program.

The event is presented in partnership with ACMobility, the AutoHub Group of Companies, the Department of Energy, and Toyota Motor Philippines. Other participating organizations include Pioneer Trucks, Autowise, DOST, MERALCO, Power Equipment & Supplies, Inc. (PESIN), Pyro X, EVOxCharge, BPI, ChargeCube Technologies, Eclimo Electric Management Inc. (EEMI), FCC Philippines, Finasiatech Corp., Intercharge Corp., Jiangsu, Pioneer Insurance, Shandong Longli Electronics, Shandong Weiwei Power, and WeCharge Hyperfast, along with media partners. The summit also features educational sessions on EV safety, charging infrastructure, business integration, solar-powered charging systems, emerging technologies, and common e-mobility myths.
