VinFast is set to enter the Philippine two-wheeler market with the upcoming launch of its first electric scooter lineup, bringing the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper models to local riders by July 2026. The fast-growing EV manufacturing firm recently brought members of the media and content creators from the Philippines to the company’s Hai Phong facility in Vietnam for a hands-on test drive session.
During the test drive, riders experienced a variety of real-world conditions including acceleration runs, uphill climbs, uneven roads, curves, and water-wading sections designed to simulate everyday urban commuting. Despite several participants trying electric scooters for the first time, the scooters quickly felt familiar due to their quiet operation, instant torque delivery, and twist-and-go simplicity.
The VinFast Evo stood out as the most beginner-friendly scooter in the lineup, offering compact dimensions, smooth acceleration, and stable handling suited for students and everyday city commuters. Meanwhile, the Feliz II delivered a more refined and comfortable riding experience with improved road presence, stronger uphill capability, and enhanced ride comfort ideal for office workers and practical daily riders. At the sportier end, the Viper showcased sharper styling and stronger acceleration while maintaining manageable handling, targeting younger riders seeking a more dynamic riding experience without sacrificing practicality.
Beyond the scooters themselves, VinFast is heavily focusing on building a complete ownership ecosystem in the Philippines through battery-swapping infrastructure, home charging support, and after-sales expansion. All three scooters are expected to be available in both single-battery and dual-battery configurations using LFP battery technology. VinFast and ecosystem partner V-Green aim to establish approximately 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide over time, allowing riders to exchange depleted batteries within minutes instead of waiting hours for charging. The company believes this ecosystem approach could help address common concerns surrounding EV convenience, charging accessibility, and long-term ownership.
Ahead of the launch, VinFast has already signed strategic cooperation agreements with 14 distributor groups across the Philippines as part of its nationwide retail expansion plan. Company executives and regional dealers who tested the scooters in Vietnam pointed to the ecosystem strategy as one of VinFast’s strongest competitive advantages in Southeast Asia’s growing EV market. More information regarding pricing, financing programs, dealer availability, and introductory offers is expected closer to the official Philippine launch in July 2026.
