Suzuki Reimagines Timeless Styling with the New GN160

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) officially unveiled the new Suzuki GN160, the latest addition to its Real Man Series, during RidePH’s 9th Philippine Moto Heritage Weekend at Foro De Intramuros, Manila. Combining timeless neo-classic styling, everyday practicality, and dependable performance, the GN160 is designed for riders who value character, individuality, and confidence on every ride. Hosted by journalist and motorcycle enthusiast Jay Taruc, the heritage event brought together riders, custom builders, content creators, industry personalities, and motorcycle enthusiasts in a celebration of motorcycle culture and heritage.

Inspired by the rugged appeal of classic motorcycles, the GN160 features clean lines and distinctive proportions interpreted for modern riders. Its styling highlights an iconic round LED headlight, sculpted 11-liter fuel tank, exposed engine, upright handlebar, flat seat, and semi-digital instrument panel. With a 760mm seat height, 1,280mm wheelbase, 18-inch wheels, and 178mm ground clearance, the motorcycle offers a natural riding position and composed handling for city streets and longer weekend rides. Its clean silhouette also provides a suitable canvas for riders who want to personalize their motorcycles through accessories, modifications, and custom builds.

Powering the GN160 is a 162cc, four-stroke, two-valve, SOHC, air-cooled engine producing 10.5 kW of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 14.5 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission and fuel-injection system, the engine is designed to deliver responsive yet practical everyday performance. Suzuki states a fuel economy of 50.3 km/L, giving the GN160 a claimed range of up to 553 kilometers on a full 11-liter tank. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic oil-damped front fork and five-step adjustable twin rear shock absorbers, allowing riders to adapt the motorcycle to different riding conditions, loads, and preferences.

The Suzuki GN160 also combines modern convenience and safety features with its classic character. It comes equipped with a front ABS disc brake and rear drum brake, aluminum mags, and narrow 18-inch tires designed to provide agility and maneuverability in both urban and rural environments. Additional practical features include a 5V 2.1A USB charging port, electric starter, passing light switch, engine kill switch, and concealed helmet hook with lock. During the launch, Suzuki executives and motorcycle personalities, including Jay Taruc and custom builders Horhe Jacinto of Garage Monkey and Jerome Quinagutan of Zeki Moto Garage, highlighted the GN160’s styling, everyday usability, and potential as a platform for customization.

Speaking at the launch, Koichiro Hirao, President of Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, said the GN160 arrives at a time when motorcycles have evolved beyond basic transportation and have become a means of self-expression. The official unveiling was joined by Suzuki Philippines Managing Director Norminio C. Mojica, Assistant to the Division Head Daigo Morikawa, Assistant Division Head Erick Fernandez, media partners, and members of the riding community. Guests were also given the opportunity to view the GN160 up close, participate in meet-and-greet and tambike activities, and experience the motorcycle through test rides. Completing the Real Man Series, the new Suzuki GN160 is available in Metallic Matte Concrete Gray and Pearlescent Black, with an SRP of ₱125,000.
